Professor of economy and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Member of Monetary Policy Council. Between 2004 and 2008, he was the MP to the European Parliament. Long-term public official and associate of international institutions.

He started his academic career at Warsaw School of Economics. In 1973 he defended his PhD in economic studies. Founder and first director of Institute of World Economy. Since 1990, a titular professor of this university. He was a visiting professor at Princeton University. Since 1999, a member of the Economic Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Between 2003 and 2005, he was the dean of Łazarski University in Warsaw. Currently he works as a professor at Warsaw School of Economics and and Łazarski University in Warsaw. Between 1970 and 1990, he attended several country and foreign internships (i.e. CitiBank’s HQ in New York). On several occasions he acted as an expert in international organizations, i.e. the World Bank,
European Commission and International Labour Organization. Between 1991 and 1995 he worked in United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Genewa as the head of the CEE region. From December 1995 to October 1997, he was the Minister of Foreign affairs of Poland. Between 1998 and 2004, he was the member of Monetary Policy Council of the 1st term.  Between 2004 and 2009, he was an MP to the European Parliament. In 2011, Dariusz Rosati was elected MP of the 7th term from Civic Platform’s lists.

Author of over 250 academic articles, including five books and a number of other publications in Polish, Russian and other languages. Honoured Polonia Restituta cross (1989) and Silver Medal of Merit(1981). Honored with Orders of Merit of France, Italy, Greece, Ukraine and Lithuania.
